Taapsee Pannu reveals new role
After her spy act in “Naam Shabana” and showcasing her glam avatar in “Judwaa 2”, Taapsee Pannu will soon be seen in the romcom “Dil Juunglee”. While the film is set in Delhi and London, the actress reveals that she and the character have very little in common. Taapsee says, "The only common aspect is that both my character Koroli Nair and I hail from New Delhi. The best way to describe her, whose father is a multi-millionaire, is that she is like Alice in Wonderland. She thinks of the world as a perfect place and then her bubble bursts."
Pannu adds, "Koroli represents an aspect of Delhi that I don't relate to, but I am aware of. It was a challenge for me to be convincing in the role of this girl who has never been given a reality check, as my audience has seen me in my tough avatar in films like 'Pink' and 'Naam Shabana."'
Talking about the Valentine's Day weekend release, she says, "It's not just a love story but also about how friends influence your love life. Romantic comedies are the safest as well as the trickiest genre to dabble in, because all love stories are more or less the same."
When probed about how her co-star Saqib Saleem and she managed to create chemistry on screen, Taapsee says, "Saqib and I did a music video before this film. Our onscreen chemistry in it was appreciated and I think it served as an audition for us to be cast in this film.”
