Art Exhibition marking Int'l Museum Day
A month-long contemporary art exhibition is on at Nalinikanta Bhattashahi Hall of Bangladesh National Museum. The museum has organised the exhibition to mark International Museum Day. Every year since 1977, International Museum Day is organised worldwide on or around May 18.
Artworks by 72 eminent artists of the country along with 10 foreign artists from Iran, Egypt, Indonesia, France, India and Pakistan are on display at the exhibition. This is a great opportunity for art enthusiasts to view the works of master painters and noted artists -- SM Sultan, Abdur Razzak, Aminul Islam, Mohammad Kibria, Nitun Kundu, Devdas Chakrabarty, Anwarul Haque, Kazi Abdul Baset, Shamsul Islam Nizami, sculptor Novera Ahmed, Golam Sarwar, Deepa Haque, Qayyum Chowdhury, Hashem Khan, Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Shahabuddin Ahmed, Kalidas Karmakar, Abdur Shakoor Shah, Biren Shome, Farida Zaman, Jamal Ahmed, Matlub Ali, Mohammad Yunus, Chandra Shekhar Dey, Abul Barq Alvi, GS Kabir, Rokeya Sultana, Syed Abdullah Khaled and Shaheed Kabir Talukdar of [Bangladesh]; Abdur Rahman Chugtai [of Pakistan] and Somnath Hore, Ganesh Halui, Sanat Kar and Jamini Roy [of India].
The exhibition is open from 10:30am to 5:30pm from Saturday to Wednesday and 3pm to 8pm on Fridays. The exhibition ends on June 17.
