Another arrest order for Tarique
A Chittagong court today issued an arrest warrant against BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman in a case filed for his derogatory remarks on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Md Nurul Alam, a Bangladesh Chhatra League leader of Rangunia Upazila, filed the case with the Court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Masud Parvez under section-500 and 504 of Penal Code, said public prosecutor (PP) Abul Hasem.
After a hearing, the court passed the order and fixed February 11 for the next hearing, said the PP.
The plaintiff in the case accused Tarique of plotting to create unstable environment in the country through his speeches like terming Bangabandhu “Pak Bandhu” (friend of Pakistan) and “big Razakar”.
Earlier, two sedition cases and a defamation case were lodged against Tarique with Chittagong courts.
