Letters To The Editor

An intersection of disorder

Thank you for publishing the above titled news (July 4). The same situation prevails in many other intersections: Abdullahpur (Uttara), House Building (Uttara), Shahjalal International Airport, Kakoli (Banani), Farmgate, etc., intersections, to name a few. In all the above mentioned intersections, alternative road crossings are available nearby. But still, pedestrians are reluctant to use them. It is also very interesting to note that in some of the spots, traffic police use ropes to stop people from crossing the roads.
Such bad practice by pedestrians causes serious traffic congestions. I appeal to all pedestrians to use nearby footbridge or underpass in order to reduce traffic jam as well as the risk of accident.
