8 more garment workers test positive for Covid-19 in Savar

Eight more garment factory workers tested positive for Covid-19 in Savar today, raising the total number of infected RMG workers in Savar upazila with coronavirus to 20.

Confirming the matter, Savar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Sayemul Huda said that on Monday, samples of 40 people were collected and sent for testing and 8 people were found positive with Covid-19. All eight are garment workers.

Besides, in a post on his Facebook profile, Dr Huda said that a total of 617 samples were tested in Savar Upazila till today and a total of 44 results came back positive. 

Out of the 44 people, 20 are garment workers and one is a doctor, he wrote his Facebook post.
