59 bombs recovered from city book shop

Police recovered 59 hand made bombs from a book shop in Bangla Bazar area in the capital this evening.

The law enforcers also detained, Abul Hasan, a student of Sociology department of Jagannath University in the connection from the spot.

Khalilur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Shutrapur Police Station told The Daily Star that they recovered the hand made bombs from a book shop in 34, North Burk Hall Road in the area around 9:00pm.

The arrestee is an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, claimed the OC.

Earlier, in the afternoon, police arrested a rickshaw van driver in Paltan area and seized a huge numbers of Islamic book from his procession.

By interrogating the rickshaw van driver, police conducted raid in Bangla Bazar from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and recovered the cocktails.
