500 crude bombs recovered in Feni
Law enforcers recovered over 500 crude bombs from a house believed to be used as a bomb making factory in Fulgazi upazila of Feni this evening, police said.
None was arrested in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid at Hasanpur village in Anandapur union of the upazila around 8:00pm and made the recovery, reports our Feni correspondent quoting Ahmed Mohiuddin, officer-in-charge of Fulgazi Police Station.
The bombs were probably made to create anarchy in the upcoming upazila parishad polls scheduled to be held on March 23, Paritosh Ghosh, superintendent of police in Feni, told The Daily Star.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the bomb-makers however managed to flee the scene, the OC added.
The house had been left abandoned for a long time as its owners live in the capital, he added.
