5 men picked up by BSF in Sunamganj frontier return
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) today returned five Bangladeshis after they were picked up from Tekerghat border area of Tahirpur upazila in Sunamganj.
BSF returned the five Bangladeshis after negotiation with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members, Subedar Gulam Rouf, company camp commander of Tekerghat BGB-8, confirmed our Moulvibazar correspondent this evening.
BSF picked up the five men from Tekerghat border area of Baliaghat village after three of them entered into the zero line around 4:00pm today, Subeder Gulam Rouf said.
The five were identified as Sahidullah, 34, son of Abdur Rahman, Aminul Islam, 35 son of Anur Uddin, Riton Miah, 28, son Riaz Uddin, Din Islam, 32, son of Abdur Rashid, and Sahid Miah, 26, son of Hadish Miah in Lalghat village in Tahirpur upazila under Sunamganj district.
Border Guard Bangladesh contacted the BSF after the incident and inquired them about it, asking them for immediate return of the five men.
"We inquired about the incident and asked BSF to return them immediately," Lt Col Khondokar Gulam Mahiuddin, BGB-8 commanding officer, said.
