5 killed as trains hit them in 2 dists
Five people were killed as trains hit them in Dhaka and Faridpur yesterday.
Our staff correspondent reports, an unidentified elderly man died when a train struck him while he was walking along the railway tracks in the capital's Banani in the early hours, said railway police.
In Kamalapur, an unidentified boy was killed when a train hit him near platform-7 of the railway station around 2:00am.
Meanwhile, Belayet Hossain, 60, of Mohammadpur, died as a train ran him over while he was crossing the railway tracks near the station in the afternoon.
Our Faridpur correspondent adds, two people were killed as a train hit them while they were crossing the railway tracks at Ghorakhali in Modukhali upazila last night.
The deceased were Rabeya Begum, 40, and Faruk Mollick, 40, said Modukhali police Officer-in-charge Abul Kalam Azad.
