5 'Allahr Dal' men held with bombs in Khulna
Five activists of militant Islamist party Allar Dal, including its district chief, were held with explosives and bomb-making materials from Phultala upazila of Khulna last night.
The arrests were made in a late night raid from a rental messing facility in Chandpur area, our Khulna correspondent reported quoting police.
The detained were Parvez Hossain, 26, son of late Abu Bakkar from Damodar and Khulna chief of Allar Dal, Abdur Rahim, 28, son of late Abdul Karim, Md Salim, 23, son of Abdus Samad from Alka, Ali Hossain, son of Hatem Munsi from Jessore, and Biswajit Debnath, alias Mahin Ahmed, 27, son of Ananda Debnath from Satkhira.
“After receiving intelligence, we raided a messing facility owned by one Ahmed Ali around 9:30pm,” said Md Nasiruddin, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Phultala Police Station.
“Five activists of Allar Dal, including their Khulna chief Pervez Hossain, were held from there. We also seized four handmade bombs, bomb-making materials, booklets, leaflets and journals from them.”
During primary interrogation, they admitted their involvement to the activities of militant party Allar Dal for quite some time, the police official added.
“The central chief of the party, Matin Mehedi, is a death convict now in Dhaka central jail for militant activities,” OC Nasiruddin added.
