4 Buddhist houses gutted in Ctg 'fire'
Four tin-roof houses were gutted in a Buddhist village of Chittagong's Satkania upazila by a fire early yesterday, which the victims and fire officials claimed to be an arson attack.
Ranjit Barua, a resident of Demsha Barua Para, whose kitchen was burnt, said nobody stayed in the house from where the fire originated around 2:30am.
Satkania Fire Station Officer Shahadat Hosain said on primary investigation it seemed to be an arson attack as there was no electricity connection and kitchen in the house.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (Satkania Circle) AKM Emran Bhuyian, who visited the spot, said they would investigate the incident.
