2 workers killed in city road crash
Two day-labourers were killed as a truck carrying them overturned at Badda in the capital early today.
A truck loaded with concrete electric poles turned turtle on a road in Aftab Nagar area as its driver lost control over the steering around 2:00am, Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge (OC) of Badda Police Station, told The Daily Star.
Noor Alam, 35 and Abdul Motaleb, 55, who were travelling on the truck, died on the spot as they were smashed by the electric poles during the accident, the OC said.
The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
The driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.
