10 hurt as Korail Slum dwellers clash with ansar men
At least 10 people including six ansar members were injured in a clash with slum people in Mohakhali area of the capital this morning.
The identities of the ansar members who are now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, could not be known immediately.
The clash erupted around 9:30am when a group of slum people started setting up new makeshift structures on an empty space of Korail Slum in Mohakhali, said Abu Bakar Siddique, operation officer of Banani Police Station.
As the ansar members, who were on duty in the area, resisted the group from establishing the structures, the slum dwellers swooped on them with sticks, triggering the clash, the police official added.
The ansar men also resisted the angry people with sticks.
Both the groups also hurled brick chips on each other during the clash, leaving the 10 people injured.
