History
Saadi, Aldnane and Raef formed Kral in 2002 December. Their first performance was on February 19e at The Russian Cultural Centre. The line up for the band was all the same except for Amit (Fumes) on Vocal and Wafi on Keys. Later the band reformed in a show organized by MAFC on July 3rd at Hotel Obokash, Imtiaz joined Kral as vocals. Their 3rd (by Altermetal.com) 4th (by Illusive Dreams) and 5th gig(s) were held at DBC. On November 26th, Kral's single SHESH was released on a mixed album called Aguntuk-2. Keyboardist Mithu joined Kral in January 2004.

Recently, Rising Stars managed to get hold of the band online, here's the conversation.
RS: How did it all start? Why "Kral"?
Kral: We never had the plan to work as a band, as we are cousins, we used to jam and learn! The lack of a keyboardist was too much, when we got someone, and then we started to hit the jam pads! Just for fun, we covered lots of music and eventually, we were serious about this band! Then we were out of a vocal also, that is the time when Imtiaz joined and Kral we started to hit the stages! MORE SERIOUSLY!
Kral means HOME! Basically the idea came from this fact that, the three founder members live in the same apartment! As simple as that! (Smiles)
RS: What were the previous bands (or current other bands) that the members were/are into?
Rafa-EX bands-Sykokinesis, current bands-Aurthohin, Dripping Gore
Saadi-EX bands-Blitz, Inferno, Current bands-Kronic Aldnane-No bands other than Kral!
Nowfel-He works for Dethrow!
Imtiaz-Worked for Aurthohin as guitar/vocals, and current band is Kronic!
RS: Were there any messed up shows you want to share with us?
Kral: Out First show! The keyboardist didn't show up to the gig day, and....*phew*!!
RS: What influenced you to start the band of this genre?
Kral: Bands like Dream Theatre and musicians like that.
RS: Trying to describe your own band is always a stinker, but how would you describe Kral anyway?
Kral: Some musician gathered together to do something, which requires talent, hard work, and the spirit to work on!ÊWe think we at least have those qualities up to that level! (Smiles) No bragging but we are satisfied with the quality we have as solo musicians; we hope that our combined work as a band will produce something that out musicians promises to the people with there talents!
RS: Do you write your own songs?
Kral: Yea, we write out own songs! All of them!
RS: Who are your musical influences?
Kral: Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Pantera, early Megadeth, Whitesnake, Steve Vai, Judas Priest!
RS: How do you describe your music to people?
Kral: We want to do the style of music that we feel comfortable in doing! And we hope our listeners will appreciate that! A combination of lots o musical genres, maybe a touch of blues from the guitarist, or a bit of progressive patterns from the drummer, or some frustration from the bassist and some serious encouragement from the vocal! And as for Nowfel, he is always there with his melodious compositions!
RS: What image do you think your music conveys?
KRAL: Our music carries the image of the voice of revolution in the music scenario that's going on right now.
RS: Do you guys have any future plans to come up with an album? Or would you rather leave it to mixed band songs? Where does Kral see themselves 5 years from now?
Kral: Yea, Kral do have plans for an album! And we will start working on some music video stuffs pretty soon! 5 years from now on, hmmm, pretty complicated question because we don't have high hopes! Till now, we only think about an album! Lets see where time takes us!
RS: Rafa is undoubtedly an amazing singer but since he sings and plays their own songs on stage...isn't it hard to perform drumming and singing together on stage? Why don't you guys hire a permanent vocalist?
Kral: Kral is searching a permanent vocal and if there is anybody out there, please contact us at [email protected] We had Imtiaz from Kronic as our permanent member, but he is leaving Bangladesh for his studies! And Rafa won't be working as a full time vocal, so if you think you can this is your chance to show the underground what you have!
RS: Recently...Kral is giving some extremely energetic and amazing shows ...what's the motivation?
Kral: More experience and less practice (he he)! The cheers from the metal heads! The underground scene kicking up, every little thing!
RS: What is it that sets apart Kral from other bands?
Kral: The name! And the possibilities that we suck or rock more than other bands!
RS: Where do you like performing the most?
Kral: Russian Cultural Centre! So close no matter how small!
RS: Any memorable occasions you would like to share with the readers?
Kral: Our second show, with out complete line up at Hotel Abakash! It was the show by which people knew about Kral. We suffered a lot because of lack of keyboardists! It was a very big joy for us when Nowfel permanently joined our band! Lets see about the new vocal crisis!
RS: Any ultimate goals?
Kral: err… Let it rest in the hand of future!

The Longest Yard

Some people will like it and some won't. I disagree. Everyone should like. So what if the whole movie deals a bit about American football as opposed to worldwide soccer. It's as simple game where basically you run around with a ball and try to avoid being squashed by huge men any of whom might possibly be gay. But I am getting ahead of myself as it is not about the game itself.
It's a goofy, ridiculous film that amuses especially in the way Adam Sandler was cast as a star quarterback. That's sort of a prized position in football where basically you wait for the ball and avoid being squashed. The games' pretty darn simple if you ask me.
It's a good funny movie but not one you would discuss five years later as the one that made an impact on your life. Frankly, movies shouldn't make an impact.
Adam Sandler plays an alcoholic has-been football hero who gets drunk, drives dangerously, is thrown into jail and becomes the pawn in a football game pitting a team of fellow prisoners against a team made up of prison guards.
His mentor is a former prisoner, played by Burt Reynolds, who starred in Robert Aldrich's original "Longest Yard" (1974). Yep, this movie is a remake.
In the brief pre-prison set-up there s a bit of boob shots aimed at the adolescent fans probably because there aren't many opportunities for such inside the Texas penitentiary Behind bars, he's told by the politically ambitious warden (James Cromwell) there are only two things Texans take seriously: prison and football. He then persuades Crewe to lead a ragtag team of inmates in a football game against the sadistic prison guards. Crewe declines but gives in to the 'persuasion' which is to try a little solitary confinement in the burning sun.
For some weird reason the big game is broadcast live on a sports network, maybe because the Sandler character was once a football hero and went down in flames over the drunk-driving scandal, and so there is a possibility of good ratings.
Reynolds turns up, lending his old-pro timing and smarts to the too-small role of another NFL-er gone bad who helps coach the team. Chris Rock plays the prison scrounger that is, he can get you anything from a Whopper with extra cheese to Prozac. He gets off a string of funny one-liners as usual.
However, he and Sandler have pretty good chemistry. Sandler's fine, just not as memorable as he's been in other roles.
Embodying the movie's broad, one-size-fits-all appeal is the eclectic supporting cast that ranges from football pros like Bill Romanowski and Michael Irvin to wrestling stars like Bill Goldberg and Steve Austin to rapper Nelly. Further, the film implicitly honors Reynolds as a kind of respected Godfather figure. Reynolds returns the favor by seeming to give the entire enterprise his personal blessing.
"The Longest Yard" more or less achieves what most of the people attending it will expect. Most of its audiences will be satisfied enough when they leave the theater, although few will feel compelled to buy it on pirated DVD later on. Or maybe they will because it so damn cheap.

Surprising is the park's compound-like nature: "We drove around some trying to find a place to park and a place to enter. What is difficult to understand about Heritage is that it was like a mini-city. You can drive around roads in the park and just stumble upon something that is closed or something that is still open. You might see remains of the park, and then see a family playing Frisbee. It really is tough to tell if you're going to get in to trouble or not. Ultimately, Heritage is just a walk in affair.
