AL promises for 2nd satellite, 3rd submarine cable

Ruling Awami League, in its election manifesto, promised to launch the second satellite and third submarine cable connection in its next tenure to flourish the digitisation process.

They also set their target to earn $7 billion from exporting software, digital services and technologies within the next five years. The ruling alliance earlier had targeted $5 billion by 2021.

They also promised to undertake programmes to digitise the financial and educational sector of the country, AL President Sheikh Hasina said while reading out the manifesto today.

Awami League also assured to introduce e-passport and e-visa, flourishing the uses of artificial intelligence, the internet of things (IoT), big data, block chain and robotics.

They also promised to launch five-generation (5G) mobile technology by 2021 to 2023 and pointed out that they have launched 3G and 4G services in 2013 and 2018.

The party also take action to reduce internet using cost at a reasonable level, reads the manifesto.
