Tigers to wear armbands as mark of respect for the victims
Bangladesh's stand-in skipper Mahmudullah Riyad suggested that Tigers will take the field against India on March 14 wearing badges as a mark of respect towards the victims of the US-Bangla plane crash tragedy.
While speaking to the media, Mahmudullah said that the team are mourning the loss of life and suggested that among the victims there could be close or distant relatives of the cricketers and he paid his condolences.
The Tigers were buoyed by their epic victory against the Lankans when they chased down 214 for victory with some fanstastic batting performances. Mushfiqur Rahim had played his best T20 knock while Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das gave Tigers wings to fly at the start of the chase. The Tigers camp were in a upbeat mood and Mahmudullah said that the news shocked all the players.
"We were devastated when he first heard the news of the crash.
"The entire Bangladesh team is mourning the deaths of everyone who was on board that flight. We hope that God gives courage and patience to those who lost family members and relatives," Riyad concluded.
