Terming the new government immoral and illegal, BNP today said a sinister journey of democracy has started through the swearing-in of the cabinet.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in the press release this evening, said 95 percent of the people have no support for the government.
He said an autocratic government has been forced upon the people though a one-sided election.
"When the opposition is trying to establish peace and democracy in the country, Awami League is taking the path of autocracy by renouncing democratic and moral values."
He added that the freedom and democracy-loving people of Bangladesh will never recognise the government.
Condemning the government, he called for its immediate resignation and demanded that a free, fair and credible election be held with all parties under a neutral and non-party government.
