Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club clinched the title of King’s Cup in Bhutan by beating India’s Pune FC 1-0 in a pulsating final at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu today.

The Dhanmondi giants took the lead in the 21st minute when national team’s centre-back Yasin Khan headed home Wedson Anselme’s corner.

The Bangladesh Premier League champions came under a lot of pressure from the Indian outfit in the second half, but managed to hold on to the slender lead, despite being down to ten men in the stoppage time after defensive midfielder Jamal Bhuiyan received two yellow cards.

After winning the domestic league title the same year, they went on to lift the Safal Pokhara Gold Cup in Nepal in 2011.
