Rana Plaza victim commits suicide

The Rana Plaza factory collapse on April 24 was the worst garment disaster in history, leaving more than 1,100 dead and many hundreds with devastating injuries.

A victim of Savar Rana Plaza building collapse committed suicide today.

Salma, 25, hanged herself from a ceiling fan with a scarf in any time of after 12:00am, Kamal Hossain, a sub inspector of Turag Police Station told The Daily Star.

Police recovered the body in the morning and send it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Salma, was suffering from psychological stigma after she got several injuries in her head in the building collapse, police said.

Salma was living with her husband in a rented hose at Bamnartek area under Turag Police Station.

She hailed from Shorishabari upazila of Jamalpur district.
