Suranjit used to raise voice for people: Khaleda
Veteran parliamentarian Suranjit Sengupta used to raise his voice always in favour of the country and its people, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia said today.
Expressing deep shock at his death, the former premier observed this in a statement issued this evening.
“Sengupta as a seasoned politician raised his voice always in favour of the country and its people,” she said.
She added that the nation will not forget his role as an organiser of the liberation war, as a politician and as a member of the constitution formulation committee.
Suranjit, a rare leader: Fakhrul
Meanwhile, party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir paid respect to Sengupta at Dhakeshwari temple where his body was kept.
He said that the veteran Awami League leader was an experienced, honest and devoted politician.
Terming him a “rare” leader, Fakhrul said, “He placed important speeches during the country’s political crisis.
