Polls under EC, govt to assist: Quader
In response to Khaleda Zia’s stern words against partisan elections, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today assured of free and fair elections under the Election Commission.
“The election will not be held under any partisan government, rather it will be held under the Election Commission and assisted by the government,” Quader said in response.
“This is how it happens in most of the countries,” he said while talking to reporters at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office after Khaleda’s rally.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today underlined that she will not accept a general election under Prime Minister Hasina’s administration and demanded a neutral election-time government.
Obaidul Quader said Khaleda’s remarks “were nothing but expression of vengeance against Hasina”.
