AL declares names of its secretaries

Awami League today declared its 22-man panel of central working committee secretaries, two days after hosting its 20th council.

Obaidul Quader, the new general secretary of Awami League, declared the list of the full committee at a press briefing held in the party’s Dhanmondi office.

The party now has an eight-member divisional organising secretary body. Two new faces have been tagged: Enamul Haque Shamim, ex-Bangladesh Chhatra League president, and Barrister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury.

Bir Bahadur, a previous organising secretary, has been removed.

There has been variety of changes in the appointment of departmental secretaries. But, the names of three presidium members are yet to be finalised, our correspondent reports.

Besides, the party will hold a presidium meeting, Awami League’s highest policy making body, at Gonobhaban this Friday with party President Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
