Nazmul Huda forms yet another party
Former BNP senior leader Nazmul Huda has formed another new party named “Bangladesh National Alliance”, his second venture after Bangladesh Nationalist Front (BNF).
A founder-member of the BNP, Huda announced the launch through a press conference at the capital's Jatiya Press Club yesterday with him being BNA's chairman.
Asked why a new was required, he said his target to establish good governance would not be fulfilled if they did not come out from the fold of the nationalist front and open a new front.
The BNA has a 13-member ad-hoc committee with Shahidur Rahman as its secretary general. The committee will stay till January 2015, said Huda.
Huda resigned from the BNP as a vice chairman on June 6, 2012.
Two months later, he formed the BNF, from which he was expelled by Abul Kalam Azad, the current BNF chairman.
A total of 22 BNF candidates joined the January 5 controversial and one-sided national election with Azad winning from Dhaka-17 constituency uncontested.
