Miscreants torched several houses of indigenous people in Langudu upazila of Rangamati this morning.

Unidentified people set the fire around 9:00 am, just after a rally protesting death of a local Jubo League leader, said Mominul Islam, officer-in-charge of Langadu Police Station.

Police recovered the body of Juba League’s Langadu upazila unit General Secretary Md Nurul Islam in Khagrachhari yesterday, reports our Rangamati correspondent.

“I have seen the houses of indigenous people burning,” Md Nazmul Hosen, Langadu Union Parishad (UP) Secretary, told our local correspondent.
