Garment worker drowns in pond

A garment worker drowned in a pond at Banashram village in Iswarganj upazila of the district yesterday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Manik Miah, 26, son of Idris Ali and a worker at a garments factory in Dhaka. Quoting family sources, sub-inspector Bashirul Alam of Iswarganj Police Station, said Manik went to a pond near his house to take a bath at noon and went missing. Later, family members found his body floating in the pond at around 3:00 pm. Manik was suffering from hysteria, the SI said, quoting family sources.
