Dead militant Abdur Rahman is Neo JMB chief Sarwar Jahan: Rab
Rapid Action Battalion claimed to have identified militant Abdur Rahman, who was killed during a raid in Ashulia on October 8, as Neo JMB chief Sarwar Jahan.
Abdur Rahman allegedly jumped to his death from a five-storey building during a raid conducted by Rab in Ashulia, on the outskirts of Dhaka.
He was son of Abdul Mannan and Saleha Khatun who are residents of Thumribhuja in Bholahat upazila of Chapainawabganj.
Sarwar alias Shayekh Abu Ibrahim Al Hanif was found involved in the banned militant group Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) activities from 1998.
Rab earlier claimed that they recovered a passport and a driving licence from his flat on October 8. His name was mentioned as Abdur Rahman in the documents.
In the machine readable passport, issued on September 10, 2014, the “militant” mentioned his father's name as Abdullah and his permanent address in Kushkhali of Satkhira sadar.

2 close aides of Neo JMB chief held
Two close associates of Sarwar were detained by Rab members on charge of financing the Neo JMB.
Nafis Ahmmed Nayan and Hasibul Hasan were detained during a raid at Motijheel and Mohakhali in Dhaka yesterday.
The law enforcers seized Tk 27.70 lakh from their possession.
