Bangladeshi killed by BSF along Chuadanga border

A Bangladeshi national was allegedly tortured to death by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Chakulia border in Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga district early today.
The deceased was identified as Bakul Mandal, 38, son of late Soda Ali Mandal of Phulbari village of the upazila.
Commanding officer of BGB-6 battalion Lt Col Amir Majid said when a group of cattle traders numbering 5/6 went to the border area early in the morning to bring cattle.
A team of BSF chased them near main border pillar no 88 and caught Bakul while others managed to flee, he said.
Afsar Ali, an associate of Bakul, said that the BSF members beat him mercilessly and left him along the border with critical injuries. He died on his way to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.
Lt CL Amir Majid said they sent a letter to BSF strongly protesting the incident.
Meanwhile, BSF troops picked up two Bangladeshi nationals from Nitpur border in Porsha upazila of Naogaon district on Saturday morning.
They are- Naimul Hossain, 26, son of Khosh Mohammad of the upazila and Alim Uddin, 22, son of Mohidul Hossain of Islampur village of Sapahar upazila.
LT Col Mohammad Ali Reza, commanding officer of BGB-14 battalion, said BSF troops of Kyadaripara camp picked up the two cattle traders from border pillar no 228 when they went there for bringing cattle in the morning.
The BGB authorities asked the BSF authorities to hand over the two Bangladeshis through a flag meeting.
