93% pass JSC-JDC, 98% pass primary
A total of 93.06 percent of the eighth graders passed Junior Secondary Certificate and Junior Dakhil Certificate examinations, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said today.
He made the announcement before media while handing over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Gono Bhaban residence this morning.
In numeric, a total of 21,83,975 students emerged successful out of the 23,46,959 candidates this year. Total number of GPA-5 holders were 2,47,588 students.
A total of 9,450 educational institutions all over the country had 100 percent pass rate. In 28 schools, the pass rate was zero.
In JSC, the pass rate this year was 92.89 percent – a 0.58 percent increase from what it was last year. The total number of GPA-5 achievers came out to be 2,35,059 students.
Later in the day, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid formally announced the results at a press briefing.
98.51 PASS PRIMARY EXAMINATIONS
Meanwhile, as the results of fifth grade terminal examinations rolled out, it was seen that the pass rate was 98.51 percent.
Total number of GPA-5 achievers were 2,81,898.
A total of 28,30,734 students appeared for the examinations, out of which 27,88,432 emerged successful.
In the Ebtedayee terminal examinations this year, 2,57,500 students appeared for the test, out of which 2,46,818 emerged successful. The pass rate was 95.85 with 5,948 GPA-5 achievers.
