Jamalpur's Sharishabari municipality mayor was shifted to United Hospital hours after he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for checkup today.

A team of Detective Branch of police admitted Rokonuzzaman Rokon, 42, to DMCH at 10:00 am today, said Sub-inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.

Around 3:00 pm, he was shifted to United Hospital, said Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Uttara Model Police Station.

Rokon has been suffering from high blood pressure and heart problem, his family sources said.

He had been missing since Monday when he went out of his Uttara home for a walk. He was found at a tea estate in Sreemangal yesterday by a security guard two days after he went missing.

Later, Rokon was brought to Dhaka DB office but he could not cooperate with the investigation team due to his weakness, Shafiqul Islam, additional deputy commissioner of DB, told The Daily Star.
