President, PM to greet countrymen on Eid day
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will exchange greetings with people from all walks of life at Bangabhaban and Gono Bhaban on the day of holy Eid-ul-Azha (August 12), the second biggest religious festival of the Muslims.
“The programme will begin at 10:30 am at Bangabhaban. The President will also deliver a short speech on the occasion,” President’s press secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin told BSS yesterday.
The head of the state is also scheduled to exchange Eid greetings with people of all walks of society, including senior politicians, judges, poets, literateurs, writers, journalists, teachers, intellectuals and civil and military officials, Joynal Abedin added.
Earlier, President Hamid is scheduled to perform his Eid-ul-Ahza prayers at the National Eidgah in front of the High Court at 8am.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also Awami League chief, will first exchange Eid greetings with people of all professions including party leaders from 10am-11am at Gono Bhaban.
Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim made the disclosure to the news agency yesterday.
After that, the premier will exchange Eid greetings with judges, cabinet secretary, chiefs of the three armed forces, foreign diplomats, secretaries, and other civil and secretary-equivalent military officials from 11am at the same venue, the press secretary added.
