Police recovered the decomposed body of a speech impaired man, who was traceless for two days, from a drain in Savar yesterday.

Manik Mia, 55, -- an employee of an animal feed factory under the Department of Livestock -- was traceless since Friday, said Firoz Ahamed Khan, additional animal resources officer of the department.

A general diary was filed with Ashulia Police Station in this regard.

Firoz said yesterday locals first spotted Manik's body in the drain of the factory and inform them.

Ruhul Amin, sub-inspector of Ashulia Police Station, said the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
