Dhaka city defies Jamaat shutdown
Normal life prevailed all over throughout Dhaka city today, during the dawn-to-dusk shutdown sponsored by the fundamentalists Jamaat-e-Islami.
Jamaat’s shutdown, called protesting the recent arrests of its top leaders, created little impact in Dhaka city as usual city life seemed little affected since morning.
Private cars were seen plying in abundance throughout the city. Public transports – buses, human hauliers and other transports – were seen plying in all the routes.
