Dhaka, Beijing to strengthen cooperation
Relations between Bangladesh and China have reached such a height which will help expedite development efforts, benefiting people of the two countries, said Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Ma Mingqiang.
China follows the policy of “unity and friendship” and is taking forward its relations with neighbours based on these principles, he said at an event titled "Forum on China's ODA Training Programme of Bangladesh Young Diplomats" on Saturday.
At the programe, held at a hotel in the capital, Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque thanked the Chinese government for giving young diplomats the chance to get trained which he thinks will help boost their professional capacity.
There are many things that can be learned from China, Shahidul said while putting emphasis on strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Among others, Foreign Service Academy Principal Syed Masud Mahmood Khundoker, and Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy Li Guangjun were present.
Some 90 officers have participated in higher training courses in China since 2013. They have visited Chinese foreign ministry and foreign service institutes, and gained knowledge on policy issues.
