Cops raid 2 Savar buildings for militants

Law enforcers are conducting raids at two suspected militant dens in Genda area of Savar, outskirts of Dhaka.

The raid began around 8:00pm at the ground floor of a five-storey building, a local stringer reports. It later moved on to another six-storey building.

ASM Abu Sayeed, officer-in-charge of Dhaka District Detective Branch (DB)-North, said they suspect militants are present inside the second building.

They suspect existence of explosive materials and advised everyone to maintain a safe distance.

A team of Counter terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is conducting the raid with assistance from forces from Savar Model Police Station.
