AL council: Roads to avoid tomorrow

Centering on the AL council, some very important roads, including those around Suhrawardi Udyan of Dhaka city, are likely to face severe traffic disruption tomorrow. Some of the roads may even be shut off due to processions and car parking of the AL leaders.
Besides, around nine thousands students will gather in the area to attend the admission test of BUET’s five faculties tomorrow. BUET administration has already advised them through SMS to reach the examination centres as early as possible.
It is expected that over 50 thousand people, including the councilors, representatives and guests, will attend the AL council.
The routes that will be shut off:
According to the DMP press release, the VIP road from Jahangir Gate to Bijoy Sarani and Karwan Bazar to Shahbagh route will be kept shut from 8:00am. Therefore all vehicles will ply through Ruposhi Bangla-Shahbag-TCS-Right turn-DU campus.
Vehicles coming from Mawa are advised to follow Sadarghat-Babubazar-Gulistan-Zero Point-Left turn-Abdul Gani Road-Old High Court crossing-Doel Chattar-Du Campus route.

Vehicles coming from Chittagong-Sylhet will ply through Jatrabari-Kanchpur-Mayor Flyover-Chankharpul-Doel Chattar-Bakshi Bazar-DU Campus route.
The route from Shahbag to Matsya Bhaban will be kept shut throughout the time.
Vehicles will ply through Katabon-Nilkhet intersection-DU campus.
Therefore, no vehicle will be allowed to reach Shahbag from Katabon intersection. The vehicles coming from Mirpur, Gabtoli, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi will have to ply through Mirpur Road via Manik Miah Avenue-Russell Square-Science Laboratory intersection-New Market-Nilkhet Crossing-DU campus or though Azimpur crossing-Palashi-DU campus.

No vehicle will be allowed come from Kakrail Church to Kakrail Mosque. Carpet Goli, Poribagh Gap, Shilpakala Academy Gap. Minto Road Crossing and Officers’ Club Intersection will be kept closed. No vehicle will be allowed to pass into the VIP road. There will be no parking facility in front of the Secretariat in Abdul Gani Road, DMP said.
