A Dhaka court yesterday sentenced two painters to death for killing Md Hassan, a student of an eight grader in Demra in July, 2014.

The convicts are: Md Shahjahan and Md Billal Chaprasi.

Md Hassan, a student of class eight of Cambridge High School in the city's Demra, was kidnaped and killed by the two convicts on July 10, 2014.

Judge Abdullah Al Mamun of the 8th Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court of Dhaka handed down the verdict.   

Soon after the verdict, victim's father Anwar Hossain expressed his satisfaction over it and urged the government for its quick execution.

According to the prosecution, the convicts kidnaped the victim after calling him out of his house. Later, they demanded Tk 5 lakh from his father over the phone in ransom. The kidnappers strangled Hassan even they got Tk 50,000 and they dumped the body under earth.

Later, victim's father filed a case and police arrested the two in this connection.
