BB heist probe report to be made public soon: Muhith

The investigation report of the much talked about $101 million heist from Bangladesh Bank's reserve fund will be made public within the “next few days”, Finance Minister AMA Muhith told parliament today.

In reply to a supplementary question from Jatiya Party lawmaker Fakhrul Imam, Muhith said, "I think the probe report will be made public within the next few days. I'll try to deliver a statement in this regard anytime in parliament during the ongoing session.”

As many as $101million was stolen from Bangladesh Bank’s reserve account with the New York Federal Reserve by cyber criminals earlier this year.

The government formed a 3-member investigation committee headed by former central bank's governor Farashuddin on March 19. 

The probe team submitted its preliminary report to the finance minister in April and the final report on May 30.

While receiving the full probe report, Muhith told reporters that the government will make the report public within 15 to 20 days.
