BTRC telecom hearing tomorrow

For the first time in the country, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) invites 420 customers in a public hearing tomorrow at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).

BTRC opened the registration process for attending such a programme for open discussion regarding customers’ complaints and suggestions. A total of 1,050 customers had registered for the event.

Most of the cases, customers’ complaints are same and that’s why the regulator invited selected number of users, said a BTRC official.

In the two-hour session, customers will be able to speak about their experiences and opinion on call-drops, voice calls as well as internet bundle packages and prices.

Representatives from the telecommunication operators will be present and the BTRC will seek their response on the matter.

After the hearing, necessary actions will be taken accordingly by the telecom regulator.

The decision to hold public hearing was made at the 199th commission meeting in August.

The commission had also asked the concerned departments to ensure that representatives from all telecom operators attend the hearing.
