England register a comfortable victory against the Tigers

Bangladesh are handed a whopping 106-run defeat by the hosts England at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff today. In chase of England's mammoth 386 for six, Bangladesh could only manage 280 in 48.5 overs.

A lethal bouncer from Jofra Archer. Mustafizur Rahman tries to get out of its way but had no luck. He flicked it and the keeper does the rest. And that's the end of Bangladesh's run chase.

Miraz tries to slap a wide Archer delivery but gets a thin edge and keeper takes an easy catch.

A Ben Stokes delivery goes right through the gap in between pad and bat and knocks off the bails of middle and leg stumps. Saifuddin departs. The tail is now exposed for the Tigers.

Mahmudullah gets a leading edge that goes high up in the sky and the fielder makes no mistake.

Shakib scores maiden World Cup hundred

Shakib comes forward and drives it for a single that takes him to his maiden World Cup century. He got to his century off just 95 deliveries. The allrounder also becomes the second Bangladeshi to score a hundred in the World Cup.

Mithun tries to go big but gets a faint outside edge off an Adil Rashid delivery and the keeper takes a good catch.

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first against England at Cardiff. 

"The pitch has been undercover for the last two days, so hopefully there's something in the first hour," says Mashrafe. "Playing an extra quick might be helpful in these conditions."

Bangladesh name an unchanged team.

"It's not a bad toss to lose, once the grass comes off the wicket it will stay the same conditions all day." said England captain Eoin Morgan.

Morgan confirms Moeen misses out for Plunkett.

Both the teams come into this match with one win and one loss from their first two matches of the World Cup -- Bangladesh won against the South Africa and lost to New Zealand, whereas England also won against South Africa but lost to Pakistan.

 

Bangladesh got the better of England in the 2011 and 2015 World Cup to reach the Quarter Final for the first time in 2015.
