Chicken Licken Gets Fried
(The 2007 version of the Original 'Chicken Licken' Story)

One day something fell on Chicken Licken's head.
“Ouch! The sky is falling down!” said Chicken Licken. “I must tell the King.”
And off he went to see the King.

On the way, he met Henny Penny. “The sky is falling down,” said Chicken Licken. “I'm going to tell the King.”
“Wait,” said Henny Penny. “Are you sure you want to do that?”

“Why not?” asked Chicken Licken.
“Well, if you sue the King for poor maintenance of the sky, you'd at least make some money. Get that bump on your head seen to. I'll be your lawyer. I won't take a cent till your case is won.”

Chicken Licken agreed to the deal.
And off they went to see the King.

On the way, they met Ducky Lucky. “The sky is falling down,” said Chicken Licken. “We're going to sue the King.”
“Wait,” said Ducky Lucky. “Are you sure you want to do that?”

“Why not?” asked Chicken Licken.
“Well, if you sue, everyone will know. Why not keep it a secret till you get a patent for the sky? Then you can sell the pieces that are falling down and make royalty on it. You'd make more money. Get cosmetic surgery for that bump on your head. I'll be your agent. I won't take a cent till your deal is done.”

Chicken Licken agreed to the deal.
And off they went to see the King.
On the way, they met Goosey Lucy. “The sky is falling down,” said Chicken Licken. “We're going to make a deal with the King.”
“Wait,” said Goosey Lucy. “Are you sure you want to do that?”

“Why not?” asked Chicken Licken.
“Well, if you collect the fallen pieces on your way, you'd get first dibs on reconstructing the sky at a premium. You'd make more money that you ever dreamt of. Get rid of that old bumpy head and clone a brand new one instead. I'll be your engineer. I won't take a cent till you get the contract.”
Chicken Licken agreed to the deal.
And off they went to see the King.

Meanwhile, the sky had been breaking at a rapid pace. It cracked and crashed on everyone before they could reach the castle. Chicken Licken, Henny Penny, Ducky Lucky and Goosey Lucy all died.

The King came out of his safely sheltered castle. He scratched his head and wondered what happened.
How come no one had told him the sky was falling down?
