This week, the new sensation TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) is sweeping through the sewers to the top of the charts. The story of Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello and Michelangelo continue in this modern day animation as the young gifted ninjas attempt to stop a mysterious evil that threatens to annihilate the world. The story goes something like this. After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, the tin-man Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Master Splinter, their sensei tries to keep them together but is somewhat troubled when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters is amassing an army of ancient monsters to apparently take over the world. And only one super-ninja fighting team can stop them-those heroes in a green half shell. To help them is of course the beautiful April O'Neil. The turtle are in for a fight of the century as they face the mysterious Foot Clan, who have put their own ninja skills behind Winters' endeavors. Kawabunga…

The next movie that has made its way to the charts is Shooter. Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg) is a former Marine Corps sniper who leaves the military after a mission goes bad. He is then put back into the Corps and is double-crossed. With two bullets in him and the subject of a nationwide manhunt, Swagger begins his revenge, which will take down the most powerful people in the country. This film is apparently an adaptation of the Stephen Hunter novel 'Point of Impact'. The last Marine Corps film I watched was The Marine starring WWE Superstar John Cena. I was not impressed with that one because every fifteen minutes of the film, I felt I was having a déjà vu. There was an explosion and Cena was jumping out of an inferno of some sort. Hopefully Shooter will be a much better time spender. It's quite interesting to chart out Mark Wahlberg's career as was allegedly a Boston street thug not a decade back. He also had his debut as a rapper and underwear model along the way. The youngest of nine children, Wahlberg counted among his brothers New Kids on the Block heartthrob Donnie. Indeed, he was briefly a member of that million dollar vocal group, but quickly left. He has also starred in some chart topping films including The Departed, Invincible and Four Brothers.
