Polls violence: Security guard killed in Kushtia

A security guard in Kushtia’s Daulatpur was killed in Kushtia over election-related violence this evening, a day ahead of the national elections.

The deceased was identified as Khalilullah, 52, a privately-contracted security guard, our local correspondent reports quoting local police sources.

Daulatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Islam has confirmed the development and told The Daily Star his killing was related to the election.

The constituency concerned is Kushtia-1 where BNP has placed Reza Ahmed Bachhu Mollah against Awami League’s Sarwar Jahan Badshah.
