A local Jubo League leader was killed reportedly by BNP-Jamaat men in Patiya upazila of Chattogram tonight, police said.

The deceased was identified as Dil Mohammad, 35, Afruzul Huque Tutul, additional superintendent of police (south) in Chattogram, told The Daily Star.

He was hacked and beaten allegedly by BNP-Jamaat men in Kusumpur area around 9:15pm, he said.

Later, doctors declared him dead after he was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital around 9:45pm, Assistant Sub-Inspector Alauddin, in-charge of CMCH police outpost, told our local correspondent.
