Gaibandha-3 aspirant Fazle Rabbi dies

Dr TIM Fazle Rabbi, a BNP-led 20-party alliance candidate for Gaibandha-3 constituency, passed away early today due to old age complications at a Dhaka hospital at the age of 84.

He was rushed to United Hospitals Ltd in Dhaka after he fell sick at his Banani residence around 2:30am.  

Fazle Rabbi breathed his last at the hospital around 3:30am, reports our Gaibandha correspondent quoting Palashbari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mezbahul Islam.

He has been suffering from various diseases including bronchitis and high blood pressure, the UNO said.

Fazle Rabbi is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter.

Born in Talukjamira village in Palashbari upazila, Fazle Rabbi has been elected MP from Jatiya Party from Gaibandha-3 constituency for six times in 1986, 1988, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2008, UNB adds.
