Walking around in the streets of Dhaka can be pretty dangerous for us folks, especially since we don't have any caped crusaders that can come to our rescue. If you're a woman, though, it's not just the streets that can be your enemy. Women are subjected to abuse even in the safety of their own homes.

We talk to Shireen Huq, one of the founding members of Naripokkho, an NGO dedicated to putting an end to violence against women. We also talk to the youth of the city about their views on how hard it is to be of the fairer sex growing up in this metropolis of ours. See page 3 for the full story.
