Lovin' With Dr. Lovelove
The Love Doctor that makes Cupid cry for his mommy…to get his diaper changed.

Dear Doc,
I'm a sixteen year old girl who's fallen madly in love with a guy! He tends to be my cousin. But that is not what is really bothering me at this moment. The problem is that I am a very jealous sort: I hate to see him with his previous girlfriend. She's his classmate and he wants to maintain a good relationship with her. I thoroughly appreciate it but the fear never leaves me. Actually, we had to break up once due to family problems and that girl gave him condolence, due to which he sought her company. But then he couldn't get over me and came back. Since then we were all happy with our relationships. But then we joined the same classes where the other girl was going and the bonding between them started hurting me. I tried to take things calmly but everybody in there knew she was his girlfriend and behaved with them in that manner, which is still hurting me continuously. I talked a million times about it with him but with no solution. I do not doubt his love but can't help my sore heart! So please tell me what I should do I love him more than my life and am expecting a happy future with him plus a healthy relationship with no jhografyings! Please help…

P.S.: I really find your solutions innovative and logical and am expecting you to help me.
Sore-Hearted Damsel :(

Dear Sore-Hearted Damsel,
See, jealousy is a cruel thing and unless you're as great as the Doctor Himself (Yes, you must capitalize all the pronouns which are to replace His name) and completely secure, this beast will devour you inside out and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Memories (i.e. past relationships) are like permanent scars etched across your lover's face. It's not one of those scars, which look cool, and racy, it's one of those scars, which make you prefer quadriplegics. Every time you look at him, you'll see that Bangladeshi blond looking right back at you, smug grin on her face, laughing at you, giving you thoughts you should not be thinking.

No matter how much you want to, the past exists, and in the past, your boyfriend was with someone else, and he was happy, or happier (I assume it's the latter because you don't seem like much of a catch), however intermittently it may have been. So there's no point crying over spilt milk. What you need to do is to get some make-up and make it so that that scar never shows itself on his face again. I'm also assuming you don't have enough of an IQ to get my metaphor, so let me explain (and I'm banking on the fact that he 'loves' you, which I also doubt): tell him that he needs to cut off all contact with her or else you're leaving him. Change classes, make him delete her from Facebook, get him a new SIM so that she can't call him. Whatever it takes. You might say that it's not the fact that he's friends with her that is the root to your hurt, but the fact that he WANTS to be. For once, the Doctor will empathise. There is absolutely no winning in a situation such as yours.

P.S.: “Jhografyings?” What kind of a loser says that anymore?

O Level Overtures

Q* If there were a civilisation outside earth, what would they want to know about us? Write a letter to such a civilisation telling them what you think would be most interesting and valuable to them. Write within 350-450 words, use the five-paragraph format and properly indent your paragraphs.

RS Mailbox

Your one-stop junction for love, hate, suggestions and counters for the Rising Stars.

Word on our last issue:
Shahriar Kabir: Hardy har har, RS! I have to say that was very funny. Printing the
same Nano Tale twice, AGAIN. Does anyone in the RS really care about
hundreds of other young writers who desperately want their own
writings to be published in their favourite Thursday supplement? I'm
sorry, but it is really hard to believe that these are honest
mistakes, you know.

Zarif Masud: This week's issue wasn't that interesting. The last few issues were better.

Eshpelin Mishtak: The cover was crap (trust me) but the insides were worth reading . People might disagree, but I find anime reviews annoying . "The Writer" by S.N. Rasul was good (even though I skipped half of it, too boring!) . But the best part this week was the article on low pants, I loved that one. And oh, by the way: this DIY thing, get rid of that. Annoying thing made for girls!

Alvy Chowdhury: I'm afraid I could not comply with the aforementioned thought. Methinks the cover was really praiseworthy and thought provoking.

Zarin Khushnud: This week was so-so. Nano tales were good!

Redwan Hossain: Loved the cover article by Sabhanaz Rashid Diya and Kazim Ibn Sadique and although I do agree that we should stick with the original scores, I do believe in order to spread the ideologies of the Sufis' one needs to make the baul songs attractive to our generation and that doesn't mean distracting it from its original tunes.

Corrigendum

Looks like I did my Jessica Simpson thing again and made a few mistakes on the last issue, I apologize for that:
1. The band I mentioned as Heal was actually Veins, but unfortunately they still sucked. Although, apologies to Heal for mentioning your name when you weren't even there, and apologies to Veins for getting the name wrong.
2. Bonny Prince is not spelled like Boney Prince. I also messed up most of their playlist. It was loud/muffled and hard to hear. But that is not an excuse.
3. The song sanitarium is a Metallica track, not a Vesuvius track.
