Car Service

A while back, I was waiting at the bus stand when a private car stopped at the stand. The driver got down and was looking eagerly for some passengers. He would drop them off at their destinations and make some extra cash out of this as well. The owner of the car was obviously unaware of this fact. I got into the car along with a few others, since I was getting late. At the same time, however, I was astonished by this new trend. The fare was quite reasonable. Both passengers and the driver get some good out of this, however, for the car-owners, this is very scary indeed.

Respecting Your Teachers

A few days ago I was hanging out in our campus with a few of my friends. There were also other students who were loitering around on the pavement. Some of them seemed to be freshmen who were also openly smoking. Around then, a senior teacher was moving from one building to another. As he was passing by, my friends and I, along with some other students nearby greeted him. He greeted us back. It was disheartening, however, to see the freshmen still smoking and chatting with one foot over the other in front of the teacher. For us, it was humiliating and insulting to the teacher. We should give proper respect to our teachers and should not completely ignore our culture.

After a hectic day at the university, I was relieved to be heading home. Unfortunately, I found myself in a packed bus with scores of people. However, I was lucky enough to find an empty seat. I was exhausted and slowly dozed off at one point. Suddenly, someone's loud singing awakened me. I looked outside and saw a man on a motorcycle with a woman (most probably his wife) sitting behind him. The man was singing a popular Hindi song very loudly just like the hero of that movie and his smiling wife seemed to be enjoying it. This scene amused everyone in the bus.
