Making Bangladesh Proud

Despite a politically turbulent year, Bangladeshis from various fields have succeeded in making waves both at home and abroad. Runa Khan and Abu Sayeed have won global acclaim in cultural preservation and filmmaking respectively. Singer Hyder Husyn has hit the highest notes of the music charts with his music videos on the socio-political situation of the nation after over 30 years of independence. Shahriar Nafees and Mashrafee Mortaza have set their own records in international cricket. Car whiz Leepu's automotive innovations have brought him international fame. And last but definitely not least, the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank.
In our last issue for this year, we at Star Weekend Magazine focus with optimism on these encouraging stories of the year gone by.
