An Unprecedented
Turnout
Zahedul I Khan
After a two-year-long wait, on December 29, the people of Bangladesh got together and took part in a democratic process. The turnout in the ninth parliamentary election was the highest ever in the history of Bangladesh. With more than half female voters and at least one-fourth first-time voters, the day turned out to be one of revelry, celebrating people's right to choose.
