Zia involved in Bangabandhu killing, PM reiterates

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today reiterated that BNP founder Ziaur Rahman was involved in the assassination of Bangabandhu on August 15, 1975.
"Mushtaq (Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed) appointed Ziaur Rahman as army chief after August 15," the premier said posing a question how did he get such a big post if he had no relation with the killers.
Hasina, also president of ruling Awami League, was addressing a rally at Suhrawardi Udyan in the capital this afternoon organised by Dhaka city AL marking National Mourning Day.
Narrating the brutal killings, Hasina, also a daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said after taking the helm of the country, Zia rewarded the killers of Bangabandhu.
Lambasting BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for celebrating her birthday on August 15, the premier said it could not be possible for her to observe the birthday on the day if she would not have distorted mentality.
Through observing her birthday on August 15, she has proved that she is still with the killers, Hasina alleged.
Earlier on August 16, Hasina said late president Ziaur Rahman was involved in the incidents of August 15, 1975 in which Bangabandhu and most of his family members were assassinated.
